Ingredients

For the Chicken

  • 2 tbsp cornstarch Coat chicken for a crispy exterior.
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil For frying the chicken.
For the Sauce
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce Use gluten-free soy sauce for a gluten-free version.
  • 3 tbsp honey Can substitute with maple syrup for a vegan option.
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced Fresh garlic preferred for best flavor.
  • 1 tsp grated ginger Adds a fragrant touch.
  • 1/2 tsp red chili flakes Optional, adjust for spiciness.
For the Noodles and Garnish
  • 8 oz noodles (rice noodles or egg noodles) Cook according to package instructions.
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds Optional for garnish.

Method

Preparation
  1. In a medium-sized bowl, combine the soy sauce, honey, minced garlic, grated ginger, and optional red chili flakes. Whisk until the sauce is smooth.
  2. In another bowl, coat the chicken pieces with cornstarch, ensuring they are evenly covered.
Cooking
  1. Heat the vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the chicken and cook for 6-8 minutes, turning occasionally, until golden brown and cooked through.
  2. Pour the prepared sauce over the chicken and let it simmer for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
  3. Meanwhile, cook the noodles according to the package instructions. Once ready, drain and set aside.
  4. In the skillet, combine the cooked noodles with the chicken and sauce. Toss everything until the noodles are evenly coated.
Serving
  1. Serve the dish topped with chopped green onions and sesame seeds.

Notes

Consider marinating the chicken in the sauce for deeper flavor. For added texture, sauté sliced bell peppers or snap peas. You can also prepare the sauce and chop ingredients in advance.
